Urine Drug Testing

Presently, urine is the most recognized specimen collected for Federally regulated workplace drug testing programs and for most private sector programs.

• Use of Forensic Custody and Control Procedures from specimen collection to the final analytical procedure in the laboratory
• Exhaustive quality assurance procedures for both the initial and continuing certification of the laboratories in the National Laboratory Certification Program
• Analytical procedures to ensure no false positive results and minimize false negative results
• Validity testing
• Review of laboratory positives by a trained Medical Review Officer (MRO) for alternative explanations and as another quality assurance reviewer of the entire process
• Procedures to ensure confidentiality of the donor throughout the process including the reporting of results to the employer

AccuDiagnostics offers "same day" instant urine drug screening and has partnered with several certified SAMHSA laboratories for GC/MS confirmation testing and Federally mandated testing.

 An immunoassay is a test that uses antibodies to detect the presence of drugs and other substances in urine. The initial screening process does not measure the specific amount of drug present in urine samples. It provides either a positive or negative result, indicating the presence or absence of detectable drug. This initial screen is performed with same day/instant results.

Positive follow-up testing (if required) is performed utilizing the GC/MS methodology.

GC/MS is the abbreviation for gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. This is the testing methodology that AccuDiagnostics uses to confirm presumptive positive drug screen specimens. GC/MS provides identification of the molecules based on characteristic fragmentation patterns at specific retention times. GC/MS is a tandem technology, utilizing a gas chromatograph coupled to a mass spectrometry
