Fingernail Drug

Drugs of abuse have been measured in nails
since 1984. Fingernails, toenails and hair are composed of a hard protein,
keratin. Drugs are incorporated into nails from the blood stream and remain
locked in the nail as it grows. Nails grow in both length and thickness.
Drugs enter the nail from the base as the keratin is formed and via the nail
bed that extends under the full length of nail. Drugs can be identified in
nail clippings 2-4 weeks following ingestion. Drugs can be can be detected
in nails up to 8 months after last usage. Fingernails grow approximately 3-5
mm per month, toenails grow at a much slower rate of 1 mm per month. Drugs
can possibly appear in toenail clippings over 1 year after ingestion

In
conjunction with our West Coast Regional Director, Marvin Storm; we
would like to welcome Jeff and Carol Hastings as our new franchise
partners for Sacramento CA. Jeff comes to us with a sales and marketing
background and has held Senior Management positions in companies such as
Coors Brewing Co., Wells Fargo Bank, Salomon Ski Equipment, and Charles Schwab.For the past 14 years he has been President of a successful
Management Consulting company servicing clients such as eBay, Chevron,
Lucent, Quaker, Novell, E. & J. Gallo Winery, Sequoia Capital, and
Sybase. Jeff also holds a masters degree in business and has been
certified as a Miller Heiman Sales Trainer.
Carol brings over
20 years of experience in Market Research with such companies as H. J.
Heinz, E. & J. Gallo Winery, General Electric, and Intuit. Her most
recent position held was as the Executive Vice President of a market
research company. Some of her clients included Wells Fargo Bank,
Schwab, Coca Cola, the State of California and Hewlett Packard. Carol
has extensive experience in both qualitative and quantitative
methodologies and is Six Sigma certified. She holds a BS degree from the
University of Buffalo and has completed graduate coursework in
Statistics.
The
Hastings have a multi-unit development agreement and have plans to open
seven locations over the next fours years on the West Coast.
