What can I take into the specimen collection room with me?

A. Test takers are required to empty all pockets, remove all outer garments, and leave briefcases, purses, and other bags behind. Following thorough inspection of its contents, employees can take their wallets with them into the collection area, as long as there is nothing present that could be used to adulterate or tamper with the specimen. They are also required to wash their hands thoroughly before entering the collection room.

Who is required to take a DOT-regulated drug test?

A. The DOT oversees testing for transportation employees and service agents, including self-employed individuals, contractors and volunteers.
